Well we have made it through the year and are now just about ready to close our doors for the final time. We have many great memories of Thrunscoe Infants’ & Nursery School and we are hoping to put some of them together into a book in the near future.

Can I say a big thankyou to all the fantastic staff who have worked like trojans this year, especially in the final few weeks when preparing the whole school for it’s move to the new Primary site. Thankyou also to our parents who have supported the school throughout the year, particulalry with the Summer Fair and packing of resources. The biggest thankyou goes to all the marvellous children who have tried so hard this year and made it a very memorable year to close in.

Have a wonderful Summer everyone, stay safe and we will see you on Friday 5th September at Thrunscoe Primary School!!!

Design a Sunshade Competition

June 3rd, 2008 by thrunscoeprimary in Uncategorized · No Comments

Earlier this year all the children took part in a competition to win a new sunshade structure for the new playground.

The children had to consider how to keep safe in the sun whilst designing a shade which would keep them cool, was waterproof and could withstand the elements etc.

Some children worked as a class on their design, some worked in groups / pairs and individually but all had a go and we were very successful.

Not only did one of our pupils, Emilia, win 1st prize overall for her fantastic ladybird design, we also won second place for Green Class’ circus tent design.

All the children won a tube of suncream, lucky runners-up also won water bottles and Emilia won herself a brand new mountain bike!

Well done everyone!

World Book Day 2008

June 3rd, 2008 by thrunscoeprimary in Uncategorized · No Comments

This years’ World Book Day took the theme of ‘Traditional Stories’. The children were encouraged to dress up as a book character ready for a day of story themed fun in school. The school hall was infested with characters from Peter Pan, including a rather scary crocodile which the children paraded around to show off their costume efforts.

Each teacher had designed an activity for the day and all the children were mixed up to rotate around the classes.

Everyone had a really great day!

A big thankyou to all the parents/relatives etc who helped with costumes.
